They Can't All Be Clintons

No one is happy with the situation. No one profits from having our own Provost serve
as our special guest speaker at Commencement. In all fairness, there is nothing
wrong with Dr. McKenzie as a person. (Granted, Ive only seen the man once, and
that was when he spoke at that other big C: Convocation.) It is unfortunate that he will
be leaving RIT with the most stigmatized RIT Commencement in recent history.

Being stuck with our own provost for a Commencement speaker is about as...

The Shakespeare Man

After over four decades of service to RIT, Dr. Stan
McKenzie is retiring from his position as Provost.
McKenzie began his career in 1967 as an
instructor and after rising through the ranks,
was appointed provost in 1994. President Destler
has called the man an "RIT institution" who has
played "a major role in the advancement of the
university into the ranks of the nation's largest
and finest private universities." In recognition of
his years of service, McKenzie will be speaking

RIT will be facilitating new research and development opportunities,
which will be open to both undergraduate and graduate students. The RIT
Board of Trustees has announced that it will be working with SG to meet
with different companies, some involved with sustainability practices.
"The main objective is to strengthen our relations with business," said SG
President Ed Wolf. VP Sasha Malinchoc explained, "Companies will pay
students to do research for them, while RIT continues to get its...

RIT Finds A New Provost

On Monday, March 10, President William Destler announced
that Dr. Jeremy Haefner would be succeeding Dr. Stanley
McKenzie as RIT's Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic
Affairs. This announcement comes after a five month,
multi-national search for a replacement for McKenzie, who is
retiring after 13 years as provost and a total of 40 years at RIT.
The search, which narrowed a pool of about eighty applicants down to
five finalists, placed the shortlist on Destler's desk in...
