Dear Reporter,
I have an issue with the article titled "Tiger Den" for the issue dated October 10, 2008. You've left out several details that fail to recognize key individuals involved with the home match that took place on October 1, 2008. I have no issue with the writing regarding Tiger Den. The Tiger Den is great and using the Tiger Den to get people to home contests has proven to be an invaluable asset to all teams.

To clarify further, "Dig Pink" was brought to RIT by the Women's Head...

Dear Reporter,
Thank you for the great article in your September 26 edition recounting Ray Kurzweils recent talk at RIT. As a 5th year Bioinformatics student I found him truly inspiring and have referred to his talk so many times that my friends and instructors are getting tired of hearing me. However, while your article was accurate, it neglected to acknowledge the Caroline Werner Gannett Projects sponsorship of Mr. Kurzweils talk.

I am currently taking a course based on their...

Dear Reporter,
As a Dungeon Master (DM) for close to ten years now I feel that I am uniquely qualified to respond to the article The Secret Society of Pen and Paper Geekdom. My first response is of course to this word secret. Now I am sure that Reporter has excellent writers and journalists on staff, and yet none of you could discover the club here on the RIT campus that supports all of the players of Dungeons and Dragons at RIT. The Rochester Wargamers Association and...

Dear Reporter,
I read with great interest your editorial
in the September 12 Reporter.
Constructive feedback from students
is always welcome and will
be put to good use. I would like
to take this opportunity to briefly
respond to the three topics identified
in your editorial, specifically
housing, parking and transportation,
and communications.

We are aware that housing is tight
on campus during the Fall quarter.
This is being caused by demand for
on-campus housing by both a...

Dear Reporter,
Thanks for highlighting this years common
book, Deep Economy, in your opening issue.
In addition to providing some excellent
(and controversial) discussion points, you helped
to highlight some of RITs greening activities of
the past year. For those of us involved in these
efforts, communication has been the greatest
barrier to progress. So here are some additional
items linked to Deep Economy that are available to
the RIT community.

Dear Reporter:
I am writing this letter concerning the cartoon
entitled, "How RIT Can Use Antisemitic
Graffiti To Its Advantage" in the April
25 edition of Reporter. While we at RIT encourage
artistic expression and freedom of
speech, this cartoon crossed a line that is at
the very least hurtful, and to many, hateful.
Throughout history, symbols have held strong
meanings and evoked powerful emotions.
Our challenge is to respect the history of
such symbols, and those who hold...

Dear Reporter,

Last week's article on the selection of Provost
Stan McKenzie as the RIT 2008 Commencement
speaker greatly surprised and, frankly,
disappointed me. I have come to expect better
from students of RIT's caliber, as well as from
our distinguished student magazine.

The quality of RIT is ultimately measured not
by the notoriety of individuals who come to
the campus to speak, but rather by the quality
of the people who work and learn here and by
what they accomplish. For...

Dear Reporter,
The Editor's Note in the March 21, 2008 edition
of the Reporter displays a common fallacy regarding
study abroad, namely that study abroad
is expensive. As the editor, you should have took
more time to check your facts and actually do
some research before printing it.

While some study abroad trips can indeed be
expensive, there are a number that can actually
end up being cheaper than staying at RIT a
quarter. I studied abroad in Germany, and my
costs ended up being...

Dear Reporter,
I recently attended the parking forum that was
hosted by the parking and transportation services
office (PATS). Given the current opinion of
this office on campus, I was excited to see them
reaching out to the community at large and solicit
direct and continuous feedback. The point of
this letter is not my or anyone else's hatredlove
of the parking on campus. I am more concerned
with surprising attitude that continues to be displayed
by a group of people who don't seem...

Dear Reporter,
I would like to take this opportunity to inform
the students of RIT about the efforts of Dining
Services-and in particular, the pilot program
in the Ritz Sports Zone-to commit to sustainable
business practices.

Starting March 10, new biodegradable products
are available at the Ritz Sports Zone, which consist
of Polylactic Acid (PLA), Renewable Forest
Fiber, and other natural fibers. PLA is a kind of
"plastic" produced by a resin that is derived from
